Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You
Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet
So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You
I wasn’t raised in a church so raising hands in praise and prayer seems foreign to me. I wish I could put my hands up as this Indian lady did during worship. Her hands bore the tattoos and wear of work from a hard life, but she proudly sang her Lifesong, just like CastingCrowns song proclaims. Someday, maybe I will be able to show my wounds and scars in praise. It just feels unnatural and clumsy of me to do it……peace….nada te turbe…..jim†
Beautiful.
I love this song and I do raise my hands in worship. I am shy so raising my hands in worship was difficult at first because I was thinking of myself. When I am lost in true worship, my hands go up in praise without my thinking about it. It is no longer about me.
