It has been a tough week. Hearing of Doyle Bramhall’s death hit me hard. He and I were childhood friends before he discovered music and I discovered photography. He did more with his gifts than I have ever done with mine. Thirty five years fly by and he moved to the same small town in Southwest TX and he looked me up. Doyle was the only person from my childhood that was close to being famous. Yet, he walked into my studio one day and was whispering to his wife Barbara, “it’s him, it’s him” like I was the famous one. He had a way about him that made people feel that way. I can remember a clock that his family had in their kitchen. It ran backwards, but all the family could look at it and tell time by it. I never could catch up with that clock or the ones that ran forward. Doyle and I both lived life by the drop for a good while. One day at a time. I hope he and Stevie Ray are shaking up the clouds together…..my photo for him…ONE DROP AT A TIME!!!!

Living life one drop at a time
Songwriters: BARBARA LOGAN, DOYLE BRAMHALL
Not so long ago it was ’til the end
We played outside in the pouring rain
On our way up the road we started over again
You’re livin’ a dream….Wo you on top
My mind is achin’….Lord it won’t stop
Thats how it happens….Livin’ life by the drop
Up and down that road in our worn out shoes
Talkin’ ’bout good things and signin’ the blues
You went your way….I stayed behind
We both knew it was just a matter of time
You’re livin a dream….Wo you on top
My mind is achin’….Lord it won’t stop
That’s how it happens….Livin’ life by the drop
No wasted time….We’re alive today
Churnin’ up the past….There’s no easier way
Time’s been between us….A means to an end
God it’s good to be here walkin’ together my friend
You’re livin a dream….Wo you on top
My mind is achin’….Lord it won’t stop
That’s how it happens….Livin’ life by the drop
That’s how it happens….Livin’ life by the drop
That’s how it happens….Livin’ life by the drop
