We came across this gaggle (man, I have been waiting so long to work that word into a sentence) of lesser goldfinches at Bosque Del Apache, NM. They were  hard and quickly working this thatch of dead thistles. There was a group of 10-15 of them (I know that’s more than a gaggle, but who’s counting). I got a photo of this female who was working harder and more creatively than everybody else. How many times have you had to stand on your head to get your supper? It doesn’t count if you work as a clown in a circus!!!
