We found this Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) at the “Beaver” pond near Rio Grande Campground in Big Bend National Park. He was a bit shy at first and moved twice before landing in a spot that could not have been better if I had asked him to pose.
I got a lot of images showing his elegant grace and poise, but I had to laugh when I saw this one. And to think he could do all this movement on one foot.
I will post a regal one in the future, but had to share….
Laugh at yourself on your journey†††nada te turbe…..jim
Spectacular shot!
haha, awesome! I just moved to the Seattle area and have been seeing these guys everywhere. I can’t get very close to them, though, even with my 200mm lens. What lens did you use to get this one?
Thanx for looking, I did this one with a 500mm on a Nikon D300s…en theos…jim
