“We are like butterflies who flutter
for a day and think it’s forever.”~~Carl Sagan
I found this dead CHECKERED WHITE (Pontia protodice) floating on the edge of a small spring on our morning walk. With the exception of the Monarch which has a life span of nine months, most butterflies flit about for a short period, 1 week to 1 month.
I would guess that the butterfly just like us, has no idea how long they will be here.

🙂 Such beautiful words, Jim. Pretty butterfly, gone on now to nourish the earth or another being.
