IMAGES OF SMALL THINGS FROM THE BIGGEST COUNTY IN TEXAS #638 – Stories that we should have felt !

One of my morning readings  started with the above quote from Helen Keller. It brought up memories from my adolescence when I most certainly did not see or feel things by my heart.

On cold morning winter when I was 14, we had a visit from my Great Aunt Ruth. I had heard stories of Aunt Ruth from her sister, my beloved paternal Grandmother. Other than Aunt Ruth looked a little like my favored grandmother, I found little that drew me to her. To my teenage mind she was just another old person, probably about the age I am now.  This was the one and only time I would ever meet my Aunt Ruth, and I now sit in wonder of the stories I did not get to hear.

My great Aunt Ruth had been Helen Keller hairdresser for many years when they both lived in New York. How I would now sit in revel of her stories that I might have heard.

Stop, look and listen. Feel today with your heart. ††† en theos ††† jim
