An image from my last good day.
I came down with a cough the day after this photo of me and my granddaughter as we walked about a park in Houston. The next day I got a cough. I hacked, spit, laid in bed and O.T.C.ed November away.
Now, six week later and half-way through the last month of the year, 10 days before Christmas, I am at long last turning the corner and beginning to feel better. The antibiotics are working. The pneumonia is clearing, my coughing is almost over. During this time my arthritis has grown so severe that the act of walking is a real pain.
My faith has been severely shaken, my body weakened and my spirit and stamina are nil. I have no energy or drive to pick up a camera. I sadly watch my wife walk my two dogs as I don’t have the energy to tag along. I wonder if and when I will ever be able to return to “normal”. Â In a couple of words: life sucks. Growing old ain’t for sissies and I am a sissy for sure.

So very sorry you are having such a hard time right now, recovering can take the joy out of us. Praying that the Lord raises you up better than before and restores to you all that has been so hard………..

Trading the climate of Big Bend for the Houston atmosphere would tax anyone’s stamina. I am glad you are feeling better. I hope and will expect to hear soon that you have recovered completely and that you are back of the trail of the smallest things again.
Butch……hey thanks so much for the kind words. I am so tired of being tired of being sick. I keep feeling like I am almost better then I get up and I have taken the proverbial three steps back. Then it’s also heck when you work for yourself and you don’t make money when you sit in the house. Just not in a good place right now….it sucks……..j
