I stumbled across this one of several horse crippler cacti beginning to bloom, starting the process of producing fruit. I am always amazed at the beauty that such prickly plants can produce.
I watched a piece on time lapse specialist Louie Schwartzberg this morning and I realized how much of a plants life I am missing. I stop and steal a small increment of time, a short 1/250 of a second. Mr Schwartzberg has much more patience than me and spends months to produce a 1-2 minute production that shows so much more that most of us never take the time to see.
Take the ten minutes of time to see time and a sense of life that we all walk past and miss the wonder that Mr Scwartzberg has paused to see and record for us.

Thanks for the link to that wonderful video, and for another lovely post. I often ponder as you do about the amount we don’t see, when we only stop for a brief moment and take a single photograph. But focusing on something for even a short time (and thinking of nothing else!) is so much better than letting it all slip by……..
Have just linked to your blog in a post of mine as I enjoy your words and pictures so much.
