“You think this is just another day in your life. It’s not just another day. It’s the one day that is given to you today…. It’s the only gift that you have right now. And the only appropriate response is gratefulness.” Brother David Steindl-Rast
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me”… Matthew 25:35
HAPPY THANKSGIVING – ENJOY YOUR BLESSINGS †††en theos †††jim
“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!”
Bob Marley
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
(traditional gaelic blessing)

I was double blessed (well, there was really more than just these 2 recorded ones) this past week. On two separate occasions I got to encounter both Red Velvet bugs and Horny toads. These had been on my wish list to photograph for some time. On the first occasion, I brought each of them respectfully back to my home and put them into a little portable light box and set up some small electronic flashes. On my second encounter I was traveling lite and carrying just my little walk about camera, the Nikon D7000. The little camera has a limited macro range, but enabled me to record both of these little blessings.
