This Curve-billed Thrasher (Toxostoma curviroste) is frequent visitor to our back yard. Most often, they seem to favor eating “Nine Lives” out of the cat bowl as opposed to the seed in the bird feeder. They are related to the Mockingbird and do have a very pleasing song. Like the mockingbird, they show little fear of our cats and will tease, tempt, cajole and generally harass the felines. They also seem to be somewhat solitary as I never see more than a one or two at a time.
