Shades of Gray from Grayson Co, TX #905 – Henri Cartier-Bresson on The Minds Eye

Untitled-1

“MY PASSION has never been for photography ‘ in itself ‘ but for the possibility –through forgetting yourself– of recording in a fraction of a second the emotion of the subject, and the beauty of the form; that is, a geometry awakened by what’s offered.

The photographic shot is one of my sketchpads.”        HENRI CARTIER – BRESSON  8/2/1994

I have been reading Henri Cartier – Bresson’s book about photography: The Mind’s Eye. It should be required reading for anyone who attempts to see and record images!    monos en theos  †† jas L

Okay, my muse was not real pleased with my kingsnake post. “Creepy” she responded. I had to really encourage her to get out of the car to look at the snake the first time. I don’t think she felt any better seeing the images. So, sitting on the porch this morning I was enamored with the water dripping in our fountain. So I went in and grabbed the D800 and made some peaceful feeling images of the drops hitting the water. A little play with the liquify filter in PS 5.1 and the ripples were reformed into a heart. My muse said “ah peaceful!”ALWAYS try and keep your muse happy on your journey†††††††nada te turbe†††††jim
