We have been blessed with very spring like weather the last few days. It has been shorts and t-shirts the last few days. Hope the trees and plants are a little wiser than me and do not bud too soon. I can remember several Easters where we have had ice and snow.

enjoy it while you got it! en theos ††† jim

IMAGES OF SMALL – THINGS FROM THE BIGGEST COUNTY IN TEXAS #664 – Grace in the glow

It was just a beautiful day yesterday. Unseasonable warm and “Grace” enjoyed it as much as us two leggers. And she looked a glow in the setting sun.

From Wikipedia: In photography, the golden hour (sometimes known as magic hour, especially in cinematography) is the first and last hour of sunlight during the day  when a specific photographic effect is achieved due to the quality of the light.

But it is as much a feeling as a visual effect. Enjoy the glooming ††† en theos ††† jim

HEART SOUP PART#2

So, you are floating on the smooth surface, basking in the warm glow. Then you see it coming. The tiniest shift in body language, a forced smile instead of a laugh, a drift of thought rather than full attention. You catch it just out of the corner of your eye, you feel it more then you see it. The storm is on you before you are prepared or ready.

“There’s always another storm. It’s the way the world works. Snowstorms, rainstorms, windstorms, sandstorms, and firestorms. Some are fierce and others are small. You have to deal with each one separately, but you need to keep an eye on whats brewing for tomorrow.”

My Australian Shepherd, Clovis poses while watching some passing deer at a little before the true gloaming. I have always loved the word and at long last found a way to use it. A wonderful Scottish word and I so appreciated the definition by a Scot describing that mysterious time of day:

“so for those that aren’t sure… this is what the gloaming looks like, it’s not just sunset, sunset is sunset, the gloaming is something different, it’s a special light, that almost glows with an ethereal quality of peace and tranquility :o”….Scott Masterton
