IMAGES OF SMALL THINGS FROM THE BIGGEST COUNTY IN TEXAS #582 – A shrine of grace amongst a maize field

We came across this roadside chapel on NM blue road US 187 just north of Hatch, NM. This was truly a place filled with a sense of amazing grace amongst the working farms of the Rio Grande valley along this beautiful road. It was filled with such peace that was showered on us for the rest of the day.

May you find such peace on your journey! ††† en theos ††† jimwork

MISS BLUE EYESI had set up an 8′ octo box to do some testing and my blue eyed deaf dog came and laid on the floor with this mournful look. How could I resist. Sweet “Grace” is a good friend and the challenge of communication makes her even more fun, plus as my muse says, her deafness is the least of her “issues”. She steals my heart anyway, well the part that the muse didn’t already take.On a totally separate note, I had a conversation with my only sister, Judy, today and she has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer and will soon be undergoing major surgery to attempt to remove and eliminate any further spreading of the beast . I ask for any and all prayers for her. She has had a hard life and has certainly earned some blessings. I didn’t know quite how to make an image to reflect my feelings about that.Enjoy the presence of those you love on your journey†nada te turbe†jim

I was out in my yard checking on the progress of spring. I could hear a distant roar and had to search the sky for the source. In a flash it made me realize how far I have come and not by the grace of an airplane.

For too many years I was at the head of that contrail. I counted life by “B’s”: how many bloody Mary’s I could drink to dull the pain. I flew 250,000 miles a year. I got free upgrades to free booze all the time. Only thing was, it wasn’t really free.

I still count the days with “B’s”: butterflies, bugs, blooms and birds. How far I now travel with His Grace.

Ah, the Grace of seeing a bird that just looks like a flight experiment gone wrong. That a bird of such ungainly  proportions can not only get  off the ground, it can even appear to do so with balance, control and yes, Grace.

She was born deaf, abandoned at a train station, severely dislocated her hip at an early age and survived that surgery and trauma. Now she just runs and walks with me and enjoys life with no hard feelings, burdens, or thoughts of yesterday. GRACE, not just her name  but how she lives life. Oh that I had such a name or attitude. Learn from your dogs.enjoy the journey.†††nada te turbe†††jim
