LINGER WITH YOUR SHADOWS
The air grows cooler as the sun draws closer.
Days grow shorter and the shadows lengthen
When it was much earlier at the same time of day
our shadows were closer
not quite so far away.
No wrinkles or signs of age
just me, wife and our dogs as we linger
We move yet a little slower
and our shadows grow even longer
moving as fast now as if it was yesterday. jim work

May the light slowly fill in your shadows today.

Waiting seemingly for that one dear true spark
Filled with love concern and grace
What sort of anxieties or despairs must you face
You shine your light as bright as you are able
But are met with brokenness of life unstable
Feelings of loneliness surround you each day Searching for someone, something to show you the way
Back to the joy you once knew days ago
Days that you remember but are missing so
Oh little one may you find your way back
To the heart filled with hope that you once had”
I found this poem but I do not know who wrote it, but it sums up my feelings for this day.

Some days you must look past the highlights and into the shadows.
In the highlights these flowers look dead.
In the shadows their deadness is hidden.
They have drifted to seed and life there is given.
