I had a lot fun with this male Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata) showing off his fall colors at Bosque Del Apache, NM. These ducks are of the Dabbling variety, and he dabbled along with me making images of him for close to an hour. He was a first class clown and I could see a lot of myself in him. He would come up covered in water and underwater plants, throwing water and making bubbles. He was very vocal for a guy and seemed to be carrying on a conversation about all the he could do.
While not near as glamorous or stately as the hawks and eagles we had seen on this trip, he had not gotten the memo. He was cool with who he was.
Be cool with who you are on your journey! Nada Te Turbe†††jim
